This area serves primarily as a learning space for biology students and those particularly interested in botany. The section acts as a guide through the variety of characteristic plant blueprints. Ecologically functional adaptations with various evolutionary modifications are displayed. Each syndrome within the topics of flowers, seeds and fruits, leaves, and roots and shoots are of course discussed using examples of one or two different species.
In 48 flowerbeds of 8 square meters each, nearly 340 different species are displayed.
The morphological section will be redesigned in the coming years, and will also be complemented by a smell and touch garden. The new section will be placed right next to the soon existing educational garden, in order to promote complementary learning and working by children’s groups, school groups, and collaborators of the Department of Biology Didactics, in addition to uses in the garden therapy project in the mentioned garden sections.
